DV Diary

DV – a technology company – wanted their first ever app designed that would help them launch their diary management app into the highly competitive mobile world.

To achieve this, we stuck to a few core colours from a flat pallet scheme and streamlined the process so that a user is never more than 2 clicks away from where they need to be within the app.

Using a flat design and bold buttons, this mobile app design has a beautiful, simple to use interface that requires no instructions to use.

User experience was key to this project, so by allowing users to select from a list or grid format it gives a tailored experience to the user’s preferences.

Time and effort was spent to remove as many friction points a necessary – this allows the user to have a great experience and not have to be too many clicks away from where they need to be.

By putting an emphasis on user experience, it has allowed the app to add more value and compete with the other apps available on the market as well as compete with those that come with mobile phones by default.

Early data signs for this app show that this app re-design and re-development has improved user experience and engagement within the app which was a key performance indicator and major reason for re-designing the app in the first instance.

This app was developed as an hybrid mobile app which uses one single Content Management System to manage both apps and works seamlessly across both iOS and Android devices.

Our flat approach to the design has not only left the app bang on trend for 2017 but also helped users to use the app with minimal effort.
