Who Are The GP Clinic?

The GP Clinic is a private online GP service offering remote consultations with qualified doctors.

Patients can book appointments quickly and speak with a GP via video call, providing faster access to medical advice compared with typical NHS waiting times for non-emergency consultations.

Alongside consultations, the service also offers paid GP certificates for medical conditions required by employers, schools and colleges.

About the Project

The GP Clinic approached us to upgrade their existing website and integrate it with their new clinical booking platform. The original website primarily handled medical certificate purchases through WooCommerce. While this allowed basic transactions, the booking experience was limited and appointment management was handled separately.

The client wanted all consultations, bookings and payments to be managed centrally through Semble, a specialist healthcare platform used by clinics to manage patient bookings and records.

Our role was to integrate the website with Semble via its API while ensuring the entire booking journey felt seamless and native to the site. From the user’s perspective, the process appears to take place entirely within the website, while all booking data is passed directly into Semble.

A key requirement was identity verification. Because consultations take place remotely, patient identity must be confirmed before any appointment can go ahead. To solve this, we integrated the Yoti identity verification API directly into the booking process. Users now complete ID verification as part of the booking journey before their appointment is confirmed.

Alongside the integration work, the website was redesigned with a new brand identity and improved visual design to create a clearer and more intuitive user experience.

A strong new brand identity - The new design introduces a clear visual identity and modern interface that presents the service as a professional online healthcare provider.

Streamlined booking and appointment management - Appointments are booked through the website while all booking data is passed directly into the Semble platform via its API.

Integrated identity verification - Yoti ID verification is embedded into the booking process so users must confirm their identity before any consultation can take place.

Centralised clinic management - All consultations, bookings and payments are now handled through Semble, giving the clinic a single system for managing appointments.

Improved user experience throughout - The booking journey and site structure were redesigned to make it easier for patients to book consultations and access services such as medical certificates.

Post Launch

Following launch, security patches were applied and SEO meta titles and descriptions were added across the website.

The Semble and Yoti integrations were also moved from sandbox environments into production, enabling the full booking and identity verification system to go live.
